The Chattanooga Fire Department and Catoosa County Fire Department worked together for hours Friday to fight a house fire that spread into nearby woods at the Tennessee/Georgia line. At 2:30 PM on 2/28/25, Red Shift companies responded to the 600 block of Graysville Road and found a fully involved mobile home fire. Several acres of woods are burning behind the trailer and other homes. There are no injuries to report at this time. Engine 21, Squad 13, Ladder 13, Ladder 7, Squad 7, Battalion 1 and Battalion 2 are on the scene, along with Public Works and CPD.
The fire is under control at this time. Firefighters are still working on getting remaining areas of fire fully extinguished. There are several different roofs on the structure, as well as a great deal of debris on the property, so that has extended firefighting operations. The cause of the fire is unknown. The house fire is in Catoosa County. The brush fire is in Chattanooga. The CFD’s new Wildland Fire Team is cutting a fire break around the area of impacted woods on this scene.
It was a very busy day for Red Shift. Engine 22 made a good stop on a woods fire Friday afternoon. It burned all the way up to the back of the house in the 5800 block of Crestview Drive in Hixson. Engine 22, Ladder 19, Battalion 3 and Tennessee Forestry responded. Crews worked another fire Friday night. At 6:30 PM on 2/28/25, Hamilton County 911 received multiple calls about flames coming from a home in the 2100 block of Chamberlain Avenue. Firefighters quickly tackled the kitchen fire and there were no injuries. Engine 5, Engine 9, Squad 1, Ladder 1, Ladder 5, Battalion 1 and Battalion 3 responded.
