CHATTANOOGA, TN – The City of Chattanooga Stormwater Management Division
is excited to announce the return of our annual Rain Barrel Distribution Day
on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at 1001 E 12th Street,

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Representatives from the Chattanooga Police
Department (CPD) and the City's Office of Community Safety & Gun Violence
Prevention were invited to present at the National Case Closed Project
(NCCP) Convening in Raleigh, North Carolina earlier this week. The Bureau
of Justice Assistance (BJA) along with RTI International extended the
invitation in recognition of Chattanooga's multifaceted approach to solving
violent crimes, which has a clearance rate 18% higher than the national
average.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. * –* The Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) arrested
18-year-old Gloire Mutabwa and a 17-year-old male in relation to a shooting
that occurred on January 13 in the 1800 block of Foust Street.

On January 13, 2025, at 3:56 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a person
shot call in the 1800 block of Foust Street.  When the officers arrived at
the scene, they found a 32-year-old woman with non-life-threatening
injuries.

Chattanooga, Tenn. (March 25, 2025) - Today, the Kelly Administration
unveiled a new proposed tree ordinance aimed at preserving the city’s tree
canopy while ensuring responsible development. The ordinance is focused on
replacement, not restriction, offering flexible options for developers to
maintain Chattanooga’s urban forest.

EMERGENCY CLOSURE

Lightfoot Mill Road - CSX Railroad Grade Crossing

The CSX grade crossing in the 2400 block of Lightfoot Mill Road has been
closed for emergency railroad repairs. The closure is effective immediately
and is expected to last five days. Detours via Bonny Oaks Drive in both
directions.

CONSTRUCTION CLOSURES

3107 Amnicola Hwy

The 3100 block of Amnicola Highway will see single lane closures with lane
shifts beginning Tuesday, March 25th through Monday, April 7th from 8:30 AM
until 4 PM daily for curb construction.

opened an internal investigation into an officer assigned to the Criminal
Investigations Bureau who was arrested by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s
Office and charged with Domestic Assault.
