4-1-25 Firefighters quickly tackle kitchen fire at Hixson residence

A kitchen fire damaged a Hixson home Tuesday night. At 9:05 PM on 4/1/25, Blue Shift companies were dispatched to a residential structure fire in the 2100 block of Crescent Club Drive. A second alarm was quickly called due to the possibility of entrapment. On arrival, firefighters saw smoke showing from the front of the house and found heavier smoke coming from the rear of the structure with light smoke pushing from the eaves. Crews made entry through the front door to conduct a search and attack the flames in the kitchen area. No one was found inside. The fire was under control by 9:21 PM and out by 9:30 PM. Fans were used to remove smoke and firefighters also checked for any extension in the ceilings. There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Squad 19, Ladder 19, Engine 16, Engine 11, Engine 6, Battalion 2 and Battalion 3 responded, along with CFD Investigations, EPB, EMS and CPD.
