Thank you, Chattanooga voters, for backing your first responders! Your vote of “YES” on the March 4th ballot has lifted residency restrictions for city employees. Because of your voice, the Chattanooga Fire Department will be able to recruit and hire from a larger applicant pool to provide outstanding service for you. Your safety is our number one priority. Thank you again for eliminating this arbitrary rule and ensuring a strong future for public safety. We appreciate the support of Mayor Kelly, city council, our local firefighter unions and employee interest groups, neighborhood associations and the voting public.
