Women from across Tennessee will convene in Chattanooga with the Mayor’s Council for Women for two days of discussion on policy issues affecting women.
Chattanooga, Tenn. (January 10, 2024) – The Chattanooga Mayor’s Council for Women is thrilled to host the sixth annual Tennessee Statewide Women’s Policy Conference, a two-day in-person conference dedicated to empowering women and shaping the policies that directly impact their lives. The conference will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024 and Friday, February 2, 2024 at The Westin Hotel in Chattanooga. “The work the Mayor’s Council for Women does every day is critical in keeping us honest around ensuring equity is at the forefront of every decision we make,” said Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly. “Hosting the Statewide Women’s Policy Conference in our city is a reminder that Chattanooga leads the way when it comes to creating policy initiatives that keeps everyone in mind.”
Hosted by the Chattanooga Mayor’s Council for Women, the annual event brings together hundreds of researchers, advocates, and community members for two days of discussion on policies affecting women. The council was launched in 2015 and hosted its first conference in 2018.
“Women and girls are better together and that is what it will take to empower meaningful policy decisions that have a direct impact on the lives of everyday women in girls in our state,” said Mayor’s Council for Women Chair and City Councilwoman Carol Berz. “This annual statewide policy conference is a tremendous opportunity to gather changemakers and policy-minded women to discuss how and where we can have the greatest impact.”
